New Changes to Salem iKON 2023 Salem iKON is a one night competition at the local venue (s) to be listed soon. Local levels limited to the 1st (15) singers to sign or pre-sign up for the competition. Only one Male and Female singer winning from each location will move on to the Salem iKON Finals held November 19th, 2023 at SHOWBiz ( showbizsalem.com ) Salem Holiday EXPO at the State Fairgrounds in Salem, Oregon and this year is a Fun for the whole Family with FREE Admission and FREE Parking at the state finals Should a pre-signed up singer show up late for the competition they may lose their place to compete should any singers be waiting for a opening to compete who are there prior to the competition starting. It is solely up the local level Salem iKON venue to allow late arrivals to compete even if there is less then 15 singers competing in the competition.

Isaac Engel is a classical guitarist from Oregon, currently active as a teacher, performer, and composer. At fifteen, he fell in love with the sound of the Spanish guitar and has pursued his passion to play guitar ever since. He plays Latin, Spanish, modern, and baroque music and his dream is to help people experience the beauties and the possibilities of life. Recent highlights include presenting the Great Music of the Guitar concert in Salem, performing in the McNary Theatre production of Mary Poppins, teaching and accompanying at the Corban Theatre Camp, and playing at regional wineries and corporate events. He is currently serving as a board member for the Corvallis Guitar Society. Since meeting in college, they have played an unusual mix of original music written by Isaac, classical arrangements, and the very few classical pieces written for the unique instrumentation. They perform regularly for community spaces most recently at Salem Center 50+, Corvallis Guitar Society, and the Englewood Forest Festival in Salem. Jarred Venti Jarred Venti is a bass player and multi-instrumentalist with a wide range of experience performing professionally in multiple different genres. In addition to releasing music under his own name on an irregular basis, Jarred currently performs in multiple bands including Lords of Blackpool (Salem), JFK (Salem), Foamboy (Portland), and Rich McCloud Band (Salem), and has performed with dozens of bands and artists over the years including Gabriel Cox, Jake Blair, Ty Curtis, Joey James, The Flextones, Schwing, Nikki Jones, Chris Jones, Sleep Millennium, Clawfoot Slumber, Still Water Vibes, Cry Havok, Groove Thief, and Crossing 13th. Jarred has also organized or participated in tributes to David Bowie, Pink Floyd, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, The Who, Cream, Radiohead, Pixies, Stone Temple Pilots, Tool, and Rage Against the Machine. Jarred mostly gigs in the PNW, but has performed in Europe and various cities across the United States. Jarred is currently the Music Director at RiverCity Rock Star Academy where he also teaches bass lessons.
Susan Castronovo Needles Susan Castronovo Needles started her musical journey into the cover band world in 2015 as lead vocalist of Rock Candi, female fronted rock and roll. Her original project Alien Recon, led her to recording her first CD, shooting a music video and writing 4 songs. Currently, she is co-lead vocalist with Moonlit Madness, a hard rock cover band and is fondly known as "Ozette". Eddie Orange Eddie Orange, 56, (Scorpio)- Eddie O., aka The Blaxican, aka Agent: ORANGE, & aka The Invisible Man, Is a Father of 3 & is a Grandfather of 3. Works by day, & Chills by night, with his girlfriend Laura. He also has a side hustle (EDDIE O.'s BARBEQUE), as well as Founder/Drummer of 'Funky Beats Initiative'. He loves movies, music, working out, hanging out with Loved ones, Eating, laughing & making other people laugh. He Caught the Music Bug, at a Very young age, listening to Many genres. He got interested in playing drums in the 6th grade due to, Not loving his teacher. He saw his music teacher play Every instrument on the table, but was Immediately drawn to the drums when he made a demonstration on them. Eddie O. played in Jazz, Pep, Marching, & Classical Bands, throughout Jr. & Hi Skool. He bought his 1st & only drum set in 1992, jammed with several local musicians & joined his 1st band Roxx Edge, in 2010. 4 years later, he formed Funky Beats Initiative (F.B.I.) and has been Partying on stage ever since, as FUNKatonians, Tear Up, the Dance Floor.
Loretta Costello Lorretta Costello Grew up in Germany with Audiophile parents. Every week a new Beatles or Stones album would arrive & it was wonderful! Not having television and only music was instrumental in instilling Lorretta’s passion for music & singing. She took up vocal lessons later in life. About 7 years ago, along with guitarist Michael Dion, Lorretta formed an eclectic musical duo, Magpie. They perform old jazz, blues & rock songs in new & interesting ways. Lorretta is looking for singers who can incorporate their genuine emotions into their performances. “Its the thing that moves me”
Sean Mc Leod Sean McLeod is a guitarist, performer and music educator in the Willamette Valley. Sean has been teaching music for over 10 years after receiving his Bachelor of Music from Western Oregon University. Sean currently performs with with original rock band Boundless Joy and Budokan, A Tribute to Cheap Trick.
